A Frightful Night!
A massive push from all the neighbours ensured a fabulous celebration on Sunday night. The barn was decorated with all the trimmings so kindly sent to us from Linda in America (her generosity is unending). Included were spooky mirror gels, LED pumpkin rings, Charlie Brown pencils, flashing key-rings, scented candles, scary cup cake recipe book, spider napkins and halloween trinkets plus trick or treating bags in which the little monsters could collect their haul of candy.
The pumpkins were carved by Terry Martin from Maidstone, but the designs were produced by his tribe. The whole family stayed for the weekend but sadly had to leave on Sunday before the (fresh) apple punch was flowing. Next year mate, next year.It was rather surreal overhearing Death chat to The Mummy Returns about roof insulation, and The Wicked Witch offering Wolf more sausage rolls. Isabelle made the most miraculous Fly Agaric Meringue Toadstools, there was Eyeball Jelly to schlurp and Bleached Bones to crunch on.
The highlight was the smallest revellers tromping down the road to trick or treat our generous neighbours: the night wound down with more apple punch and endless games of Bat the Bat.
