Another Swarm

Two weeks ago we secured another swarm who had made thier home in a compost bin just offf the Saunton Road. The owner of the bin had returned from a three week holiday and discovered her new residents when she lifted the lid on her composter. She immediately contacted the North Devon branch of the British Bee Keepers Association who rang Ken who then rang me.We waited until sundown to approach the swarm and Ken skillfully moved them to my hive. The box was left overnight ontop of the composter so any stragglers could find thier way in and the following evening we sealed the box and transported it safely to Silver Cottage HQ. The following morning I went to check on our new chums and, after initial period of insane activity, they have all settled down to work . Good work bees and good work Ken.
