Days Out

Silver Cottage has been busy with B+B guests this holiday despite the continued rain. We are however keeping the holiday spirit alive with regular day trips out. As always, first on our list is the seaside classic of Ilfracombe. Bustling with activity and imbued with a curious charm this town is a holiday delight. After a trip to the harbour we visited The Ilfracombe Fryer situated on the promenade for lunch.                                               We were fisrt to arrive bang on midday and were warmly welcomed by a vibrant and helpful staff who were especially kind to our children. The interior was spotless and walled in polished mirror which filled the restaurant with natural light. The menu is extensive but we all chose fish and chips. The service was swift and the food was amazing. A light and crispy and batter over hot fresh fish accompanied by golden hand cut chips which I consider the be possibly the best I have ever eaten. Colour, texture and flavour. It was spot on, and all washed down with a lovely cuppa tea. It gives our local fish and chip shop -  Squires of Braunton - a serious run for its money.www.ilfracombefryer.co.uk
